![]() ![]() A ceaseless experimenter throughout his career, Steinbeck changed courses regularly. Popular success and financial security came only with Tortilla Flat (1935), stories about Monterey's paisanos. After marriage and a move to Pacific Grove, he published two California fictions, The Pastures of Heaven (1932) and To a God Unknown (1933), and worked on short stories later collected in The Long Valley (1938). During the next five years he supported himself as a laborer and journalist in New York City and then as a caretaker for a Lake Ta-hoe estate, all the time working on his first novel, Cup of Gold (1929). In 1919 he went to Stanford University, where he intermittently enrolled in literature and writing courses until he left in 1925 without taking a degree. ![]() ![]() And based on an image in its Steam Workshop description, 铁制护腕 has made a skin for Ciri. It is, without a doubt, my favourite mod for the Darkest Dungeon. The skin covers all fronts: it looks like Geralt, it replaces the Hunter's axe with Geralt's silver sword, and it even makes use of the Quen sign when you get attacked. Since installing this mod, I've named all my Bounty Hunters Geralt because there is no dang way that I'm not making them all look like the White Wolf of Rivia. Darkest Dungeon's standout skin is easily 铁制护腕's Geralt skin for the Bounty Hunter. ![]() This mod isn't life-changing, but I thought I'd include it here for fellow controller lovers. Without it, players would be forced to use PlayStation 4 button prompts, regardless of the controller they're using. Jonathan11197's Xbox One Prompts is another mod that does exactly what it says: it adds Xbox One button prompts. ![]() Now saying that, I have to admit that I actually prefer the keyboard and mouse for Darkest Dungeon, but I'm sure there are people who would like to use a controller. But sometimes you just want to sit back, relax, and use a controller. Don't get me wrong: I like keyboards-heck, I'm writing this article with one right now. The supplies that are affected are Firewood and Dog Treats, which can now be stacked to 5 and 8 units respectively.Īmong the PC Gamer staff, I'm known as a guy who enjoys his controllers. This mod by Maester Silvio does exactly what it sounds like: it changes the values of gems, quest items, and certain supplies to allow for stacking. ![]() ![]() ![]() I can't talk about full torchless runs though, I've never done them. I generally go pitch black when I've been breezing through a dungeon and my party has full health and/or I've finished the dungeon and there are a few battles left and I have a lot of health/lots of stress (I like to gamble with virtues at the end, as they're going to stress relief buildings afterwards anyways). I've also done the same thing and gotten 3 rubies + gold a couple times. As in, I've fought a group in 0 light and got no loot several times. Special team comps, and shamblers.įrom experience, doing a battle in the dark just increases the chance of getting better loot and raises the cap, it doesn't guarantee it. Really the only reasons to do a dark run are the reasons I said above. At best they give me my full haul halfway through instead of toward the end, but I'm leaving with pretty much the exact same stuff I would otherwise be leaving with. ![]() The exact same freaking rewards because I still have to ditch items for other items. Usually on mid runs I'm ditching items for room very early in a run and well before the end of it I've already got pretty much as good of a haul as I'm going to get. Yes I have done torchless runs, several in fact, and the difference in rewards is. ![]() It's irrelevent on anything but a short quest. Granted, it is less relevant on long missions like I said but, that doesn't mean it's pointless. When I see people say something like this I have to wonder if they've ever done a torchless run or if they're basing their opinion off of simply looking at their loot bag after a successful radiant run and thinking it can't possibly get any more full. That's even true in long missions where the bonus loot becomes less relevant but, still noticable. If you're focused on getting one thing in particular, then you are absolutely going to walk out of a torchless dungeon with far more of it then you would if you went with raidiant light. That's not true, one stack in your inventory doesn't necessarily = another stack. I brought this point up several times here and people still insist that it's more rewarding to go torchless, even though you get the same exact loot in the end due to the inventory size. ![]() Originally posted by Grilleds:Aside from possibly running into the shambler, there is no point. ![]() |
